The Ipswich orchid Society (IOS) has a had a partnership with local charities for past two decades. The partnership with each group lasts for two years and involves the selected group working with IOS during our two annual shows each year. It is one way our society is able to support community activities and work with local groups. Ipswich Orchid Society has developed a profit sharing formula that allows us to work out the returns to the partner organisation based on raffle sales, door entry takings and net profit from each show in the year. A presentation is made each year at our Christmas function. The Ipswich Bromeliad Society also contributes towards the amount presented. In odd numbered years, IOS seeks expressions of interest from local charities and Not-For-Profit organisations who are interested in partnering with us over the following two years. IOS has developed an explanation sheet outlining what the partnership involves and what is required as part of the application process. IOS’ management committee makes a decision on the partnering organisation and a Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the two parties.
